He won't be doing any gaming at all nor will he be overclocking so the K variants are not necessary. If I remember correctly when rendering the workstation cards aren't as important as CPU power so I don't want to add a few hours onto is rendering time because we decided to go with an i5 over the i7 but if the noticeable performance difference is negligible I don't want to waste $100 to $130 that he could be putting into a better monitor. He'll have at least 8GB of DDR3 1600 and will be using the PNY VCQ600-PB Quadro 600 1GB for modelling. What's up all? I'm throwing together a system for a friend who is big into Poser, Bryce, Daz 3D and Hexagon on a $1000-$1100 budget and am curious if the performance differences between i5 2400, i5 2500 and i7 2600 when modelling and rendering will be worth the higher price for the i7 or if going with either i5 will be fine?
